I’m one of those lucky people whose job is also his hobby: writing.  I love to write poems and stories and books, especially for children.  I also love to go to schools and talk to students about how much fun it is to write.  I like to show them ways to create their own poems.

In my website you’ll find out about my writing. You’ll get a chance to read some of my poems.  You’ll learn about some of the programs I offer to schools.  Maybe someday I can come to your school.  What I want to do more than anything is help you feel like the poet Dylan Thomas did when he said,

     "Poetry -
all that matters is the enjoyment of it.”

Never Blame the Umpire, a middle grade novel, March 2010

Those who have been in the trenches will best understand the power of Gene Fehler's extraordinary new book Never Blame the Umpire. With compassion and gentleness, Fehler illustrates the experience of suffering and the peace that comes only from God.

-Dave Dravecky, former major league baseball player, author, CEO and president of Outreach of Hope
